Lanzarote is the farthest island both to the north and east of all the other islands in the Spanish archipelago. Lying approximately 1,000 kilometers off the Iberian Peninsula and almost 125 kilometers off Africa's north coast, it has its capital in the municipal city of Arrecife. It is the fourth-largest of the Atlantic Ocean's Canary Islands, as well as the third most populated of the islands.
Lanzarote is home to the vast and popular Timanfaya National Park, which is found in the center of the island's western region. The park is a significant attraction spot for the island, accounting for the majority of its visits. Lanzarote has been a UNESCO biosphere reserve since 1993.
Beauty all over Lanzarote includes a fantastic landscape full of volcano hills, stunning harbor views, beautiful white sand beaches with all-year-round warm water, and natural scenic forestry. Outdoor activities range from swimming, scuba diving, snorkeling, and nature walk in the stunning geographical presentation of Lanzarote.
Caleton Blanco is one of the most famous spots in Lanzarote. It is crowned with several northern coves which are home to some of the clearest water spots in Lanzarote. Snorkeling is the most common activity here. Fans of extreme water sports throng to the Famara Beach, where numerous cliffs and surf breaks provide for high water surfing, hang gliding, among other vibrant activities.
Another very attractive spot in Lanzarote is in the scenic Guatiza Cactus Garden. It features thousands of species of desert plants that have been adapted to the climate of Lanzarote. Other memorial spots encompass the numerous caved-in volcanic cave museums that display the works of famous artists like Miro, Picasso, and Cesar Manrique.
Scenic views of nearby islands are possible from the Mirador del Rio, a beautiful sightseeing spot that is located to the northern tip of Lanzarote Island.

When to visit Lanzarote

Lanzarote experiences a subtropical desert climate as classified under the Köppen climatic classification, with a slight bordering on the tropical climate. In general, the weather is made up of warm, humid, and dry summers and mild, tolerable, and rainy winters.
Summer receives very little or no rainfall at all, and the days have up to ten hours of hot sunshine. The temperature remains in the highs of 30.2°C (86.4°F) and lows of 21.6°C (70.9°F) on average, with rare episodes of extremely scorching days. From mid-June to mid-August, the days receive no single precipitation drop!
Winter is mild and pleasant with the mercury in the highs of 22.5°C (72.5°F), and lows of 15.2°C (59.4°F) and daily mean temperature of 17.9°C (64.2°F) on average. Much of the year's precipitation is received during the season, and has December as the wettest month, albeit minimally with approximately 29.5mm (1.2") rainfall.
Spring is lovely, with mildly warm days and favorable outdoors weather. The blossoming of flowery trees has a spectacular outlook for the city. Autumn, too, is moderately warm and pleasant with magnificent fall foliage that is excellent for picnicking and photography.
The peak of Lanzarote's travel season is between July and August, during the peak of summer. The period has the warmest weather of the year, the warmest seas, the most transparent and most predictable waters, and the best outdoor activities. This is an excellent time to go fishing, diving, snorkeling, or even engage in numerous beach activities.
The June festival of Corpus Christi, "the body of Christ", is one of the major religious events in the city, along with the Semana Santa Festival and the pre-Easter holiday.
